The story

Alan R Ackroyd writes practical, down-to-earth books about staying calm in a busy world. His approach is simple: small habits, real life, no jargon — mindfulness you can actually keep up with.

Mindful Commuting came from a simple observation: that the most ordinary parts of the day, like the journey to and from work, are quietly some of the most stressful — and some of the easiest to turn around. His writing meets readers where they are: short on time, a little frazzled, and after a calm that survives a normal week.

When a technique is practical enough to use on a crowded train, it’s practical enough for the rest of life too.
